Service Description

Sometimes you don't need a whole roadmap. You need to think through one specific thing — clearly, thoroughly, and with someone who actually gets it. That's what the Parent Guidance Session is. Ninety minutes. One focused conversation. A real plan by the time we hang up. This session is designed for parents who are navigating something specific and need help working through it right now, not eventually. Maybe you have an IEP meeting next week and you've never felt prepared for one of those in your life. Maybe your child's evaluation results just came back and you're sitting with a report full of terms you've never heard. Maybe you've been fighting with the school for months and can't figure out why nothing is moving. Maybe you just need someone to look at what's in front of you and help you make sense of it. Whatever it is — that's where we start. By the end of 90 minutes, you'll leave with: → A clear understanding of your situation and the landscape around it → Specific next steps — not vague suggestions, but concrete actions with a sequence → Language you can actually use in a school meeting, with a provider, or in an email → Answers to the questions you came in with, and probably a few you didn't know to ask → The confidence that comes from knowing you're not figuring this out alone What parents bring to this session: IEP and 504 preparation — You have a meeting coming up and want to walk in knowing your rights, understanding the document, and ready to advocate. We'll go through your goals, concerns, the questions you should be asking, and what to do after. New diagnosis — You just got an evaluation back and are trying to figure out what it means, who needs to know, what to tell your child, and what your family needs to do next. I can help you make sense of all of it. School conflict or stalled support — Something isn't working and you can't get the school to move. Maybe services aren't being delivered. Maybe the IEP isn't being followed. We'll figure out what's happening and what your options are. Home strategy — Your child holds it together at school and falls apart at home, or mornings are a battle, or homework is a daily war. We'll look at what's going on through the lens of how your child's brain actually works and figure out what to try instead. Evaluation questions — You want to request a psych eval but don't know how, or you got one and don't understand it, or you're wondering whether a private evaluation is worth it. This is also a great session for parents who aren't sure what they need yet — sometimes naming the problem is the most valuable part. What this session is not: This is not therapy, legal representation, or a clinical diagnosis. I'm someone who has spent years in the trenches of exactly this — who has read the reports, sat in the meetings, researched the options, and figured out what actually works. Investment: $300. Sessions conducted virtually via video call. I'll follow up afterward with a summary of what we discussed and any additional resources. Book using the button above. 🌿
